Sorry, man.

I would like to apologize to the man I scared severely tonight. Here's the story.

I went into work today at 9:30 and got off at 8:30, which meant that for 11 hours, I had to yell at people and ask them how they are doing.

We listen to music pretty loudly at my work which causes us to kind of shout to each other and customers. We also have a rather large store and must say hello and goodbye to every single person who walks in or out of the store. So, if I happen to be on one end of the store and someone walks in the other end and my coworker doesn't notice or is busy, I must yell 'HELLO' across the whole store and over the music.

Because I got so used to being loud and greeting people at work, it translated into my non-customer related life. When I'd walk into a public restroom I'd say, 'Hi, how are you today?!' to random people who think I'm a freak, and when I went to the restaurant next door to borrow a fork, I yelled, 'HEY, CAN I BORROW A FORK?,' causing the person to laugh and yell back at me, 'ONLY IF YOU BRING IT BACK.'

What also happened was that as I was walking down a dark street tonight, I yelled super excitedly, 'HI, HOW ARE YOU TONIGHT?' to a guy who happened to walk past me and I scared the crap out of him.

I immediately started laughing at myself and felt so bad, but luckily he laughed as well!

  1. Ha ha, poor guy. I'd probably do it too if I'd been yelling all day. I'm already finding myself using my teacher voice with Ryan if he starts tickling me or doing something I don't like... I'm about to start telling him he has to sit in the chair for two minutes and then tell me why he's there and what he's going to do to stay out of it next time.

  3. hahahahahah that sounds HILARIOUS, jesus, this needs to be a comic strip or something. I've done the thing where we were both in a store with loud music, and I got used to yelling, then I yelled after realizing there was a pause in the music and EVERYONE stared :D

    1. If I were an artist in any way I'd make a comic strip, but I'm not. YOU, however, are, so get on it woman!

I hate when that happens in a store, SO awkward!!
