Airstream

Today has been a sad day. Family issues are never fun to deal with, especially when they leave you so heartbroken that you just want to crawl into bed and cry all day.

Luckily, there have been a few fun things today that have elevated my mood slightly.

Since I decided to go to nursing school, Vince and I have been considering what we want to do, living wise. Our house we have now is wonderful and perfect in pretty much every way that we need. It's close to the woods, has tons of space, a big fenced backyard for the dogs, a washer and dryer...everything that we want in a house. Except the price, it's so expensive! When I go to school, I plan on going full time and hopefully cutting back on my work hours to 30/week instead of 40. That means that I will be getting paid less, meaning there's no way Vince and I will be able to build a substantial savings account, which bums both of us out.

What I really REALLY want to do is buy something like a trailer, deck it out, and find some place with hook-ups on the edge of the forest. I doubt it will ever happen and we'll pinch pennies in our current house, but a girl can dream about THIS. {Seriously, click on the link and go through the slideshow!} This guy bought an old Airstream trailer and remodeled it and I LOVE it. Seeing this is so inspirational and I would freak out if we could live in a small space like that and just focus on school and riding bikes.

It was also fun to sit and redo my blog. Sometimes I just want a change, and it makes more sense to change my blog than do something crazy like paint my walls or re-arrange my whole house.

You like?

  1. I do like how you've redone your blog!! Awesome. Sorry you are going through something challenging familial wise. You definitely have my prayers. I totally want a gypsy cart one day! :) My hubby will most likely not be supporting this..we have a huge home so...it'll be okay! :0 Hearts, Janna Lynn

  5. It's so funny that you say that because Ryan and I talk all the time about wanting to just buy an RV and do that! And I LOVE the new blog, very catchy. =] Sorry about family problems. I know how that goes. Just hold your head up and remember you're amazing!!!

  7. Sorry about the family issues. Those are never fun. I hope things work out for the better! <3

I LOVE you new layout! It's very fun and sunny! :) The banner is especially cute!

That Airstream trailer is amazing! My grandparents on my mom's side have an RV that they live out of and travel the country in with their dog and cat. My grandpa's a painter, so they travel around and he paints different landscapes that they come across. I would love to live in either Oregon or Washington. I have family that lives up there, so I've been there many times on vacation and it's always so gorgeous and rainy. Plus, it has a beach! (Even if it is a very cold beach, haha.)

  8. Family issues???? Care to explain or was it me??? NOMB???

And to better things--have you tried writing for a scholarship?

    More of my 2¢
I went to LPN school back in the dark ages (1978) with a student loan, Pell grant, disadvantaged student scholarship (divorced with kids), a couple of local scholarships (BPW and Rosary Ladies Guild), one from Iowa Methodist Hospital because ex-hubby was an alcoholic that didn't stay on the wagon, the hospital I worked for then had a partial tutition reimbursement that was basically a extra quarter an hour in wage for as long as I worked for them and what was called then a hardship scholarship (paid for fuel (I drove from north of Corning to Creston, 60 miles round trip 5 days a week) and James' babysitter)--most of these were for $300 to $500, they added up! I also worked weekends--now you know why my kids don't like me-they never saw me for a year. lol-maybe?
There are all kinds of places that offer scholarships--just have to dig them out and apply--you get good at writing baffling BS! From this blog and my book present--you have good writing abilities, so . . .
I like the new design but miss the mutts ♥U

  9. I suppose we could loan you Clyde! My sis and I took it to northern Alberta with 2 dogs and that took up all the room in it. Clyde is a 1979 Monaco 25' Class C RV with a hole in the side where some jerk smashed into it--just cosmetic. He hit the storage box that sits under the sofa! Never have turned the furnace, water heater, water or 'fridge on. We just used it for sleeping.

  11. Thank you!

I can't wait until I can just travel around in an RV someday, because it's definitely going to happen! I would love to live in Oregon or Washington. Vince and I were thinking about moving to Washington for a while, but we'll be here for a few more years.

  12. No, it's not you, silly! It's just some drama with Suz. Things will be ok though.

Thanks for that advice! I'll definitely take some time to look at that website and find some money.

I'll have to throw the dogs in somewhere, I miss them too, they're my family! hehe

  13. That sounds like quite a trip, with two dogs! When we make it up to Montana, it would be fun to take it camping for a week!

  14. We got approved for our loan Tuesday. If Ryan weren't finishing up school right now, man we'd already be out of here. I've started selling the stuff we won't be able to fit in there with us. =]

  16. 404 days! Some days I feel like, oh my gosh that's so close I need to start getting more ready! Other days I feel like, Good God, how the hell am I supposed to wait 404 more freaking days?!
Every day that someone pisses me off I think I want to just leave right now ha.
You should do it too. You can be a traveling nurse. =]

  17. Oh my goodness, that's so soon! Time will fly by so quickly. Yay!

I definitley have being a traveling nurse on my mind, I think it would be awesome. I know I absolutely want to do overseas volunteer work like Haiti, Mozambique, etc when I'm needed.
