I'm sorry, I had to do it! It was so fun to take silly pictures of myself...
I don't think I've talked about working out in a while, so here I am to tell you!
I HAVE BEEN SO AWESOME IT ACTUALLY SHOCKS ME.
I can do, like, 5 man push ups!
Seriously, I never would have though that I'd be able to make it this far. I've been working out for about 3 weeks and I haven't wavered one bit. I've embraced the 'shittyness' of it, and now I kind of enjoy it! It's fun to go that little extra bit each workout and realize that, Whoa, my body can do a LOT more than I thought it could.
When I first started working out to the Jillian Michaels videos, I would see her do something and think, 'God, I can't do that. What the hell?!' But guess what? I can! A big example would be lunges. All through PE growing up those were my least favorite things to do. I would rather run 5 miles that do a single lung, let alone repeated lunges! But I persevered and kept doing them, and now I realize that the only reason I hated doing them so much was because I had no muscle to do them! My knees would hurt, but that's because I had no muscle to support them. Now I can do a killer lunge {in just 3 weeks!} and I don't get any of the 'bad' pain like I used to. It's actually pretty awesome to see my body change like that. I'm loving it!
I've started to get in the groove of things, and now when I don't workout a day, I start to panic thinking my next workout will be super hard! I know I need days of rest, and I definitely enjoy them, but I'm always so worried I will fail at this goal and stop working out.
This is what I've done in the past 22 days:
*Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred {x9}
*10 Minute Solution: Pilates {50 minutes}
*Ran 15 miles {with a couple walks and hikes thrown in}
*Tons of extra arm workouts. I googled a couple of simple workouts for women to do with 2lb hand weights and they are hard, but I love them!
So there ya have it, my little workout 'thing' I do.
I'll leave you with a playlist that I listen to every time I run. Once or twice I've listened to something else, like Streetlight Manifesto, but it's almost always this playlist. I tend to only get through the first 5-7 songs before my workout it over, I love all the songs and they are all so good super loud and really get me in the rhythm of running!
I HATE PLAYLIST SO SO SO SO MUCH. God, it was soooo slow putting those 8 songs on there and I hope to never so it again. Does anyone recomment a different program thing to use?

ReplyDeleteCongrats, that's awesome! I've been trying to do 2-3 bigger workouts a week, and at least one minor one per weekend.
ReplyDeleteI always listen to ridiculous music when I work out because I just need THE BEAT and I don't care what it is. Ha.
Ya that beats important to me too! When I do the 30 Day Shred video that's the main thing that keeps me going haha
