Juice!

So I have two juice 'things' to talk about. I know it's weird, but stay with me. Well you don't have to stay with me, there aren't really any points to these stories.

On Sunday Vince and I had some friends over and Pom Wonderful juice came up. Don't ask me how, it just did.

So Taryn said she doesn't like it, but Andrew said he did, and I had never tried it.

I was at Basha's yesterday and they had them on sale 2 for $5 so I got two. I LOVE pomegranates but I've never wanted to buy the juice because it's usually $5 a container!

As I was driving home I thought I'd try a sip and HOLY HELL. That stuff was so strong that it burned my throat. It felt like I drank straight lemon juice!

I've decided to just use it in smoothies or something. Blueberries were on sale a couple weeks ago for $1 a container so I bought 4 and froze them so it would be like antioxidant galore in a smoothie!

Has anyone else tried the Pom juice? I got one that was 100% pomegranate juice, and one that was 50/50 pomegranate juice and cranberry juice. I haven't opened that one yet but maybe it will be a little less intense. Either way, they are definitely not for drinking straight.

The bottle are pretty rad though...

On Sunday I went grocery shopping because the above mentioned friends {plus 2 others} were coming over for dinner.

As I was walking through the aisles I was thinking about a conversation I had with my friend Veronica a few days previous about how when we shop hungry, we buy a lot of 'easy' food, and when we're thirsty we buy a ton of drinks.

I rarely buy premade orange juice, just the frozen kind, but I looked down in my cart and realized I had just put in a huge gallon of orange juice and noticed iI was extremely thirsty.

I quickly finished shopping, checked out, and loaded everything in my car.

I immediately grabbed the jug of orange juice, unscrewed the lid and starting drinking. As I was lowering the jug, I realized someone was sitting in their car as well, directly in front of me, staring and laughing at me.

I'm sure I looked crazy but I was SO thirsty!

  1. I've been wanting to try that Pom Wonderful juice for so long! I admit that it's mostly because the bottle is so cute- but oh well. I had no idea it was strong like that though. I'm anxious to see if your smoothies turn out yummy!

  2. Ya, the bottle is my favorite part! hehe The smoothie did turn out delicious, I made one today. I put some yogurt in so it was creamy and the pom juice wasn't overpowering.
