September 17, 2011

Today is mine and Vince's first wedding anniversary! I can't believe it's already been a year. It seems like it was just a couple months ago, while also feeling like it was so many years ago. I am SO happy that I chose this man and that he chose me. Life is so grand and adventurous with him and I'm stoked about our little lives. Believe it or not before I even MET Vince, I told my best friend Annie that I was going to marry him. We all worked together and he was talking with other people who worked there as well and I jokingly turned to Annie and said, 'I'm going to marry him,' but really I wasn't joking. I knew I was going to marry him!

My stepmom Pam is a celebrant and married us and she gave us a copy of the ceremony. (If you're getting married, let me know and I'll pass on her info to you!) You better believe I cried reading through it again! I don't have too much time though before we head out to dinner (sushi!) so here's a few pictures. All photos taken by the talented Tulasi Devi Photography!

My lovely sister who did my hair and makeup.
The hair accessories and necklaces the we made.

Vince and his dad.
Our wonderful friends who played music for the ceremony.
Vince walking his grandma down the 'aisle'. When I was waiting to go I looked out the window to see what was going on and saw them from behind. That's when I started crying, it was so sweet.
Me all giddy as we're about to sign the marraige license.
These were the bouquets I made!
The theme was mason jars, so we had them lining the fence with candle where the reception was held at night along with christmas lights for lighting. I had cut some branches off trees across the street that were plum purple that matched the wedding colors. Free decoration!

"Our impression is that she has found the one to face the world with; the one to laugh and dream and cry with." Pam Packard, from our ceremony

And to end with, the last line of our vows that Vince and I wrote together:
'I promise to hold your old hand in mine when we're grown and tired, and to love you more than I do today.'

  1. Ah I love everything about it! Happy Anniversary! So sorry I didn't say it sooner, I was thinking it was next weekend! I even went back and checked through your old wedding posts earlier this week and somehow calculated it as being next Saturday, oops.

    1. I'm sure once you meet the right person you may change your mind. I know so many people who have said that and then thought differently! But even if you aren't and you find someone you love, you don't need to get married. As long as you love each other, you don't need some paper stating it!

      Thank you!

    2. I believe you. although I've got no idea how it feels to meet the right person. :D I don't really care about the paper either, but I think it's a nice gesture to have a humble romantic ritual.

    3. Ya, that was mainly why we did it. We just wanted to have a big get together with people we love and share everything with them!

  7. Congratulations on celebrating your first year together as a married couple. I'm hoping to do that some day too. I love to see brides with visible tattoos.
